Sericho pallasite slice. The Sericho discovered in Kenya in 2016. Superlative inclusions of olivine and kamacite.
Sericho meteorites are found in a strewnfield over 45km long with pieces weighing from less than one kilogram to masses as large as 500 kilograms.
The olivine crystals of Sericho are generally rounded and vary in color from gemmy green to orange.
The metal shows the Widmansttten pattern nicely.
Pallasite are stony–iron meteorite. They are relatively rare, and can be distinguished by the presence of large olivine crystal inclusions.
